4 BEARD GROOMING MYTHS THAT ARE SIMPLY NOT TRUE

Hello and a very splendid day to you all, as we welcome you back to our every-growing TBS beard blog!

I do rather enjoy receiving the many questions I've been asked throughout the years in regards to beard care tips and tricks, usually through email.

I thought today might be a good a day as any to open up the old 'beard myths' book and unleash a little-lighthearted truth to some of the witcheries that circulate around the web in regards to grooming our beloved face forests.

So, without further ado, here are - 4 Beard Grooming Myths That Are Simply Not True...

SHAVING YOUR FACIAL HAIR WILL ACTUALLY MAKE IT GROW FASTER!

There is a little old wives tale that suggests a mans facial hair will actually grow QUICKER if he shaves it off, to begin with.

Now, the logical part of your brain has likely clicked into place, debugging this as nothing more than mindless nonsense, but some folks still feel this wizardry to be true.

Well, I can categorically tell you this is indeed false, your facial hair will NOT grow any quicker if you choose to shave it off and start over, although the new hair that will grow out may appear a touch darker, which in turn makes folks believe it is growing out faster as it is now more visible.

MAGIC BEARD BOOSTING PILL WILL HELP GRO OUT YOUR BEARD FASTER!

I hate to say it fellas, but those overly expensive 'beard boosting' pills aren't all that they are cracked up to be. In fact, in the most part, they are indeed fake baloney.

Some of these products not only cost the earth but offer very little result to warrant such a hefty price tag. And in all honesty, all you really need is some good old biotin in your diet.

Biotin is a naturally sourced vitamin that can be found in a wide variety of foods, including red meats, most nuts and other items you probably already feast on in the comfort of your own home. You can also pick up the diet pills that are readily available over the counter at your local health store. These will provide you with the right balance of biotin in your system that can help improve hair growth and rather weirdly, nail growth as well.

HAIR STRAIGHTENERS AND HAIR DRYERS WOR FINE FOR BEARDS!

Now this one will become heavily debated by those who choose to read it. But hair straighteners and hair dryers are NOT a safe option to use on your beard in my own personal opinion.

But why? to put things simply, these magical devices were not made with your beard in mind, which in turn can quickly begin to cause issues for both you and your marvelous fuzzy face.

Using hair straighteners long term will soon dry out your facial hair, making it brittle and weak to the touch. And sadly the same applies to the hairdryer too.

Now, I'm not suggesting that you shouldn't ever use them, as I know many of our blog readers already do, but going from experience I soon noticed these problems arise for myself, and some of my buddies who followed the same routine.

I know many of you may have had success stories that might seem to outweigh the bad, so all I can suggest is that you tread cautiously if this is something you'll choose to use in the future.

FACIAL HAIR DOES NOT REQUIRE BEARD OILS AND BALMS!

Some people believe that beard oils, butters, and balms are nothing more than bottled gimmicks that are just not needed when it comes to looking after one's beard.

Of course, your facial hair will still grow without the use of such products, but the truth is, once they begin to reach a certain length a handy splash of beard product just adds that extra level of care and protection that is needed to help things continue along nicely.

Beard oils and balms help moisturize and protect your beard from split ends, dry spots, and even flakey damaged skin. So, before you dismiss some product, think long-term and of the bigger picture.

So, that sees today's blog post come to an end. As always we would love to read your feedback in the comments directly below this very post.
