4 REASONS YOU COULD BE CAUSING SPLIT ENDS WITHOUT REALISING YOU ARE DOING SO

When it comes to facial hair etiquette we are only too happy to give out our advice and care tips to our readers in the hope of providing you with the best facial hair etiquette

routines we know, that are always tried and tested.

Amongst the good sometimes we have no choice buy to highlight the bad, in the hope we can save a beard or two from suffering in the process. Today, wanted to talk split ends, (yes again) and discuss the possible reasons as to why we might be causing them without even realising we are doing so...

USING THE WRONG BEARD WASH AND CONDITIONERS WON'T HELP YOU ANY!

Although this is a rather easy mistake to make, when a man assumes the shampoo and conditioners normally used on his head will work equally as well on your beard, when in fact this is not the case at all.

Over the counter shampoos and conditioners are specifically formulated for the use of the hair upon your head. Your beard hair is very different, and requires a different level of care too.

Our 'TBS' beard wash and conditioner gently cleans your face whiskers as well as the skin beneath, without stripping away any essential oils, which could otherwise cause dry, brittle hairs to begin. Which then in turn will develop stressed hairs to form, causing split ends and other face fur nasties.

BRUSHING THROUGH YOUR BEARD WITH THE WRONG TOOL WILL CAUSE MORE HARM THAN GOOD!

Choosing the correct comb also plays a huge part in your beards health and wellbeing. The easiest and most readily available option available on the market is the plastic comb, usually mass produced and rather cost effective, they might seem to be serving the purpose well of detangling your beard well, but in truth you might be causing your beard hairs to weaken, then break. But how? I hear you wonder.

Usually these mass produced plastic combs contain microscopic sharp edges, naked to the eye, which can cause snagging and tearing of your beard, which nobody wants to see happen.

Instead, invest in a comb cut from wood, much like our 'TBS'comb & new bristle brush range. This way you will help eliminate such problems from forming in the first place.

BLOW DRYERS AND STRAIGHTENERS ARE THE KRYPTONITE OF YOUR BEARD!

I have said it before, and I continue to stand by this and say it again, NEVER USE HAIR DRYERS OR HAIR STRAIGHTENERS ON YOUR BEARD!

The reason is rather self explanatory when you think about it. Blasting huge waves of heat directly through your beard will dry out your face fluff in next to no time as well as speed up the aging process of your skin, causing you and your beard-mane a whole host of beardy problems in the not so distant future.

But why is this so? Simply put, these drying and straightening devices were not created with your beard in mind. Yes, you may be temporarily granted the results you were first searching for, but given a short length of time you'll come to regret doing so. Be smart, and opt out I say, Brother.

CHOOSING TO GO 'ALL OH NATUREL' WITHOUT OILS & BALMS WILL CAUSE SUCH PROBLEMS!

It is a nice idea that a man who chooses to grow a beard simply throws away his beard one morning and begins to flourish out of his face the picture perfect beard right from the Google image search of his beardy dreams. But sadly this isn't how it works, in all honesty.

Beards can help make any man look real dapper, but to get the very best results that even your Great Great Grandfather would be proud of it takes us a whole lot of time, hard work and dedication to achieve beard perfection. And beard oils and balms are a huge part of this process.

If a man opts out of using beard oils and balms he will soon be greeted with an long, scruffy unmanageable beard that will be dry to the touch, hold numerous ugly split ends and will look rather unsightly too. Maintaining the right levels of hydration is absolute key to to your beards rate of growing and grooming success. This will help to keep your skin and beard looking sharp, clean and all round healthy.
