I GOT 99 PROBLEMS BUT MY BEARD AIN'T ONE!
When man first sets out on his transition from 'nakey faced boy' to 'marvelous bearded gentleman' they often surpass a whole collection of beard related issues along the way. From skin rashes, to patchy facial hair growth, and in the worst of cases some fellows struggle to grow out anything more than a little stubble, no matter how hard they may try. Today I wanted to discuss a handful of common furry face related problems, and how best to avoid them ever returning again in the future...
BEARD DIMPLES, THEY'RE UGLY BUT CAN BE FIXED!
Beard dimples are something not all of us have to deal with. Thankfully they can be easily rectified and stopped from outbreaking in the first place given a little extra TLC in those certain troublesome areas. Bad skin blemishes and outbreaks are often caused by dirt build up within the beard, that can aggravate the skin which causes such areas to break out in the first place. On the flipside they can also be caused by overwashing and not thoroughly rinsing though your beard afterwards. Now, I'm not suggesting those who do suffer with such issues have unclean faces, not at all. As unfortunately many of us can have breakouts with little to no warning or explanation. And the more you over stress about their unwanted appearances the worst they can become. Using tea tree oil can help clear out dimples and spots if used regularly. Then continuing a healthy beard and skin care routine will have your face clear again in next to no time.
MY BEARD IS AS DRY AS A DESERT! PLEASE SEND HYDRATION!
When your beard starts to reach a certain length you'll notice it can dry out super fast in comparison to when it was a tad shorter. The thing with facial hair is it is not at all like the hair that grows on your head, and does require a lot of TLC to help keep that marvelous beard well hydrated to stop any further beard complications from arising. Doing so is a rather simple fix, but one that often gets overlooked by many 'beardos', using a premium quality beard oil and/or balm. When you use beard oils they add an extra barrier of moisture to your 'man-mane' which locks in all the goodness it requires to help repair any damaged hairs, whilst lowering the chances of further split ends and dryness. Ask any bearded man who opts in to use oils and balms and they'll soon reel off an entire list of the true benefits in doing so. So, all in all it's an essential part of any bearded mans care routine, and rightfully so.
MY BEARDS TURNING MORE GINGER? WHATS THAT ALL ABOUT?
Most bearded gentlemen will notice the odd outbreak of gingerness hiding away in their beard. If like me you're blessed (Yes, I love my red beard!) with the 'ginger gene' then you too will most likely experience the greeting from a red whisker or two when it comes to growing out your beard. Although dying your beard is always an option, I believe you should simply embrace the red and rock it out loudly and proudly. I don't look at ginger as a bad thing. I'm one of those 'mystery men' that has brown hair (although I choose to shave it off) and a bright ginger beard-mane. If anything I honestly prefer that I have a ginger beard, as it makes me stand out even more from the crowd. Like the a lion in his pride land, I'll not be overlooked. Now, it doesnt get much more bossy than that, right?
MY BEARD IS TOO WILD AND GROWS IN EVERY WHICH WAY!
Another frequent problem many bearded men face is having a spot of trouble trying to maintain control of their furry faces. Some guys are blessed with a neat growing straight haired furry face that sits exactly where they'd like it to, whereas others (again like myself) are cursed with a wild untamable facial forest. Thankfully there are a few simple pointers to follow that will grant you back control of your mutton chops in next to no time. The first being the most obvious, combing through your beard. Although you are probably well aware of the benefits of combing through your facial hair, make sure you continue to do so regularly as and when it is needed. Also using a beard balm will grant you a better hold of the natural frizziness of your facial hair, giving you much better control whilst maintaining a more natural shape to your fluff. Whenever you apply either a beard oil or balm be sure to use a wide toothed comb to even out the product throughout your man-mane, making sure that the oils/balms reach the skin hidden away underneath.
