If you are a traveling kind of bearded fellow who can often be found on the road be it for work or pleasure you'll most likely already carry a ton of various male necessities. From your trusty tooth brush to your favourite aftershave fragrance. Remembering to pack all your 'beardy essentials' can prove rather tricky, so here's a handy little guide on what your beard survival kit should contain...
PACK SOME HIGH-QUALITY BEARD BALM & OIL!
First and foremost you'll need to keep that beard of yours well hydrated, and the simplest way to do that other than throwing a bucket o' water of your head ever hour is to apply some high quality (hint hint) beard balm or oil of choice. 'TBS' scorched armor beard balm being my personal favourite. This will help maintain control of that beard frizz keeping your beard looking and feeling at it finest.
DON'T FORGET YOUR TRUSTY BEARD COMB!
If you want to keep your beard at the top of its game and the knots at a minimum you'll need to have close at hand a beard comb. These come in a collection of different shapes and sizes created using a whole host of different materials. I usually pack two separate combs. The first being my trusty 'TBS' model V type comb hand crafted from solid African wedge wood, this being my everyday use comb. Second i use a wide tooth plastic 'afro' comb which I use each day during my morning shower, which helps during washing my beard. Without a comb of some sort you'll struggle to keep the beard shape you desire, so be sure to pack yourself a comb!
KEEP THAT BEARD SHAMPOO FRESH!
With the beard boom in full effect you can now purchase shampoo and conditioners specifically created for your beard, so if you're traveling out of town for a couple of weeks it's sensible to pack the right products needed to keep your facial fuzz fresh. Using hair care products can prove too harsh for your beard with the two hair types being very different which could cause unnecessary beard damage.
A RAZOR, WAIT! A RAZOR!??
Yep, you read right, a razor! Nope, I'm not planning a beardy massacre or anything equally as scary, but If you want to keep your beard game strong you'll need to tidy up those cheek lines every once in a while. So packing yourself a familiar razor and gel might prove rather handy. Some understandably don't like the idea of a razor ever approaching the facial region so choose to leave it to the professionals i.e your barber/groomer instead, which too, is absolutely fine! Either way keeping them cheeks whisker free helps define your beards shape ultimately giving you a sharper look to your beard.
